Freezing toilets is an issue that should have been addressed decades ago. After all the Horizon cars are nearly 36 years old. Now Amtrak will cancel 1333 again account a disabled train is sitting in Saint Paul??

Every day is a new adventure with this pathetic, no one holds them accountable outfit.

Is there room in the food service car for a porta potty or two?
Or perhaps numbers of porta potties could be stationed at strategic stations along the way.

Again, an amtrak rider is one that needs go from A to B in the worst possible way.

On another subject, how are the folding steps and plug doors working on the Siemens Vulture cars in a
relatively moderate midwest winter ?

you would want a baggage car for porta potties, heated, no way you could get one thru any regular door i have seen

you need propane heaters type things and mini portable fences  with canvas then heat the underside of the car, is what we did on the ski train, creating a heat pocket, every train could benefit, while getting serviced laying over

Train 1340 is a deadhead to Chicago today. 1333 finally got out 4 hours late today. 

with 824 pushing. The last 800 in standard (not Autotrain) use.

Enjoy it before it’s scrap.

I saw metra was delayed by broken Amtrak near Morton Grove around 3:30, wonder what that was?

In Chicago, this has been a very mild winter.  Commuters should be grateful for that.

I like that!  The food service car hopefully is the warmest car, unless it's totally sandwiches and cold plates!!  I'm sure the other patrons won't mind the aroma of "bodily used food" or otherwise!  Too bad they couldn't get through the baggage car to the headend crew where the warm cab with a "potty" might be enjoyed best by ALL there!  HA! HA!
