Amtrak train 5

What is with Amtrak train 5 between Provo, Utah and Reno, Nevada? Amtrak notices have been few, far between and not very informative.

train 6 had the boulder incident near bond, colo train 5 was blocked, they cut off their power  dragged #6  to Bond , recoupled to their train , that crew expired by GSC if not earlier, a UP pilot got onboard to get it toG Jct too

I don't know , the engine had to be left in Bond, i was wondering what got ripped out, tank punctures, other stuff, don't recall an engine was left in Granby a couple weeks ago, but for all i recall it could have been a mechanical problem, rockslides are the most common in the spring.

Rocks fall when they feel like it, it's not like they ask permission first.

And they like doing it as a surprise too! How many times has Rio Grande dealt with that over the years!

Killed some some fine grande men too, used to more folks out here to deal with it as well, to to ride trains you need to have a sense of adventure and be relaxed, not a good fit for many.  Smokers would just freak out for example
