Holiday train still rules on Metra’s Electric line!  Arriving downtown Friday at Millennium Station after handling the 319 / 320 turn out the South Chicago branch.  Green for, well, you know.

A couple of trips on Milwaukee District West trains showed some cars still had their Holiday Train lights.  They just weren't lit.

Doesn't appear to be a locomotive on the consist in the video.  Or are those cars electrified?

Yes. They run the Metra electric line between Randolph-University Park

Yes, these are electric multiple unit cars by Nippon-Sharyo which succeeded the early 1970s Highliners which succeeded the 1926 single level motor / trailer pairs.

Power is 1500 VDC via overhead catenary. The Nippon-Sharyo cars use inverter-driven AC traction motors
