(I believe it was a Budd RDC.) Back then, Windsor was a fairly small rural community. Lots of changes over the years. I'm glad to see passenger service restored to the North Bay, but sure wish I could have ridden the NWP electric lines in Marin County, but they were gone in the early '40s.

All grade crossings in inhabited areas are Quiet Zones and horns are sounded only in emergencies. The area between Petaluma and the northern reaches of Novato is not a Quiet Zone. Horns are sounded for all crossings, both public and private. Trains routinely reach 79mph in this segment. |
