Southern California Earthquake Service Disruption LA San Diego
Author: GP25

I see this mid morning 5.2 Earthquake.center near Julian-Eastern San Diego County.
Is causing a bit of a service disruption. Along the Surf Line Route. Between LA and San Diego.
I am seeing Amtrak Train #770 is being held at San Juan Cap. And I am hearing other trains are being held.

I didn't think an Earthquake this size would cause any problems.

Does anyone know of any issues along the old ATSF Surf Line Route?

Magnatude above 5.0 within 30 miles of the track triggers a track and bridge inspection before service can resume.

The San Diego CBS affiliate reported that the tracks reopened around three o'clock this afternoon (sic).

The elephants had a plan, knew the plan, followed the plan.

Well it is a little hard for them to do the standard "Duck, Cover and Hold On" that CalOES tells everybody to do.

Glad some animals still have good instincts. When there's a threat, known or unknown, protect the young.

Can't say the same for us (homo sapiens) despite our intelligence. We're so pathetic we celebrate artificial intelligence.
