Northbound City of New Orleans, running fairly on time, stopped for mandatory re-crew at Mattoon, IL.  Seems unlikely they'd go dead on hours.  Image from Dixieland.

Depends on where and at what time the previous crew change was made....

This could be anything from a rules violation to a sick conductor. Unless someone has specific and/or personal information all we can do is keep guessing.

I think Carbondale is where this crew takes over with the run to Chicago scheduled for about 6 hrs though if on time you can knock about 45 min off due to heavy padding of the final stop.

Engineer got sick.  A relief engineer had to be called and vanned up from Carbondale.
