Location was several miles west of Glenwood Springs CO.   The train is currently on the move approaching Grand Junction, at a maximum speed of 30mph due to the damage to the lead unit.  Photo is from the above-referenced news source.

the plan was to back up and leave the unit, there is a wye were they could turn the unit before G jct if adding another freight unit perhaps they just went with wrong way @ restricted speed?

Departing Grand Junction 10 hours late headed West. Cost them almsot exactly 9 hours.

NOW 12 HOURS 
Did they get a rental UP unit to lead?

dixieland says yes

now there maybe problems with the rent a wreck.........explains the train falling down more, and staying in SLC so far  , going west now!
