That is one reason for service suspension in the East Bay, and because of it, a Capitol Corridor train was terminated at Oakland Coliseum, but that is in East Oakland, not between Richmond and Martinez.

I read on a headsup page there was a grenade spotted near the tracks at MP 28.5. They had to get a military bomb squad to come check it out. That was just on the headsupnorcal site msg page.  

Union Pacific tracks are closed in a section near Martinez, CA, due to a large sinkhole developing between the tracks and the Bay Trail. The closure is between the Atlas Bridge entrance and the Bay Trail, and there is no estimated time for reopening

And the area cited is actually between North Richmond and Giant/Pinole, more than 10 miles west of Martinez.

Martinez is about 11.5 miles AWAY by the crow flies.

Sometimes, relying on human observers (even if just listening to radio or radio feeds) is far better than "AI" or "reports." I saw the posts, too.
