Passenger Trains > A Week Plus Long Philly Vacation(Spending Nights 8/29-9/7)

Hey everyone,

        Although I have railfanned in the Greater Philly area many times as well as done nonrail activities there, those trips have been mainly daytrips or long weekend trips as I live closer to NYC. Well, in a little under two months, I am going to be taking a week plus long vacation to the Philly area, mainly to railfan.
These are the rail activities that I have planned
1. Railfanning the Lansdale/Doylestown Line between Lansdale and Doylestown and perhaps some spots south of Lansdale.
2. Railfanning the Warminster Line between Glenside and Warminster
3. Riding the entire trolley routes to Sharon Hill and Angora(mainly riding) 
4. Riding and railfanning the Norristown High Speed Line plus Amtrak and Septa RRD action on the Keystone Corridor.
5. Railfan and ride Patco. 
6. Railfanning and riding NJT's Atlantic City Rail Line

Where are the best spots along the routes that I mentioned above to railfan, especially ones that are in safe neighborhoods? I have ridden all of the commuter rail routes, Patco, Norristown High Speed Line, Market-Frankford Line, and Broad St Line plus the trolley routes to Darby, and Media and the Rt. 15 streetcar. Thank you for any tips.
    

 

I always enjoy visiting Overbrook on the Paoli Line. The Overbrook Tower, adjacent to the eastbound station, remains open. Lighting is good early to mid morning; then mid to late afternoon.

I’ve been to Overbrook Station on the Paoli/Thorndale Line a few times and like that spot! I was there last in May of 2021. I might end up in Bryn Mawr at some point, photographing action on both the Norristown High Speed Line and Paoli/Thorndale Line.

I’ll probably go to claymont as well.
