Pacific Surfliner Consist

Seen recently on SLO rail cam, the consists for trains 779 and 774 show eight cars. That’s two more than usual. Kudos to Amtrak and CalTrans for stepping it up for the Thanksgiving holiday season.

But I believe they did it not only with the six California wreck-repair Superliners but also with at least three or four regular Amtrak Superliner coaches that should be on long-distance trains right now.  Those three or four shouldn't be on short-distance trains anywhere, especially not during a holiday weekend.
