Passenger Trains > Lake Shore Limited

Saw this mornings Lake Shore Limited in northwest Ohio on its way to Chicago

It had 5 coaches vs the normal 4 Not sure if one of the coaches was being repositioned into Chicago to get ready for the relaunch of the Boston section?

Also note these cars were very dirty. Will be interested to see if they get washed in Chicago

Never-the-less hopefully Amtrak added this car to accommodate the holiday ridership

Take a look at   "448/449"  that was started on 11/25/25 , it has info on the Lake Shore Ltd with photos and it's updated to Sunday .  48 of the the 29th left Chicago seven minutes late and is presently early  in to Albany , the worst delay (CHI-ALB) was thirteen minutes out of South Bend .

This then indicates the consist is different than before the sink hole cancellation

First 5 cars were coaches and the 5th car is a cafe

Before the cancellation the 2nd car was the cafe

Perhaps more switching is now done in Albany?

No change in regular Lake Shore Ltd. consist  from normal prior operation : Boston train -  sleeper / lounge  / two coaches , NYP train  -  three coaches / diner / two sleepers / baggage car  . Dual mode unit comes off at ALB , Boston train - power normally operates through to/from Chicago .
