Welcome back Lake Shore Limited - splitting the signals at MP57 in Charlton MA.
December 1 marks the first day that Amtrak 449 has run since it was suspended this past summer due to roadbed issues in New York State.

Followed this topic from the beginning, saw the sinkhole up close and monitored progress repairing it, a deceptively difficult job tackled by Amtrak and subcontractors, was told by insiders more trouble may lie ahead for the Post Road Cutoff as other weak spots on the ROW exist but let's enjoy 449's daily passage through Chester in the meanwhile.
