Passenger Trains > Tracks are Back -- Bakersfield to Sacramento

It's been 5-1/2 years since COVID took it's toll on the San Joaquins, but starting Monday, December 8, the 2nd round trip between Bakersfield and Sacramento returns as another Gold Runner.  Train 701 leaves Bakersfield northbound early morning and train 704 leaves Sacramento southbound late afternoon.  Two through trains without a bus transfer in Stockton make for a pleasant trip.

Great news! If only the trains still featured cafe cars...many thanks for posting!

That's my favorite ride to Sacramento, 710 to Modesto and transfer to 701 to Sacramento and train 545 back to Oakland.

According to a Capital Corridor email, the Caps will be back to full service on the 8th as well.

What are they called now?  Gold Diggers??

Pacific Surfliners go back to pre-Covid service levels in January as well, and sometime next year will even see a service expansion (Additional SD-SLO RT) that was originally planned for Fall of 2020...
