Passenger Trains > BNSF 4226 giving Amtrak a little help across Middle Park

Went skiing up at Mary Jane today which is part of the WinterPark complex in Colorado. The snow is severly lacking in the Colorado Rockies this winter making for dismal ski conditions. I decided to make it a short ski day to chase # 5 across Middle Park. Following up on cozephyr's video of #5 today in Colorado here is the several hours late with BNSF 4226 as a loaner

Image 3: pulling into Granby for a two minute stop with a bit of sunshine.

We need snow in a bad way.

It's a La Nina year so you might not get a lot.

Has the Amtrak Granby, CO, platform construction been finished-?  Thanks for your BNSF 4226 on Amtrak's California Zephyr images.

Great way to save a poor day on the ski slopes!  Guy in Wheat Ridge

From the outside nearly everything looks done.  There were what looked like a couple of electricians working on the base of a light pole.

I'll be on this trainset from DEN-CHI after it turns to #6. Hopefully they'll have the engine issue resolved and we won't be held to the freight speeds.

164 has been a known bad actor. Started acting up a few weeks ago on the Borealis. Was dropped. Then sent to Portland and back. It has issues on 28 a few days ago and was assisted by a BNSF engine to Spokane where it was put in trail. This was the boulder strike trainset. Now this on 5..........

Maybe its engine 301 in disguise.
