Passenger Trains > Storm Fern CancellationsDate: 02/01/26 18:58 Storm Fern Cancellations Author: sethamtrak I think this is day 8 of rolling cancellations due to "equipment unavailability as a result of winter storm Fern".
305, 307, 383, 354 and 364 cancelled today due to no equipment available. This means 300, 302, 365 and 351 will be cancelled tomorrow out of their out stations. Date: 02/01/26 19:40 Re: Storm Fern Cancellations Author: MacBeau Is 40 & 41's cancellation being attributed to Fern or equipment availability?

Date: 02/01/26 22:23 Re: Storm Fern Cancellations Author: NPRocky I wish we could find out how much of this is engines and how much of this is cars. If they've been letting cars suffer freeze damage despite having electricity for building power, shore power or HEP fully available, something is certainly wrong that shouldn't be. And I too am shocked that RPA isn't saying anything about this.

Now the snow has a name and stops trains. Can we just quit giving snow a name and run trains? TAW Date: 02/02/26 03:57 Re: Storm Fern Cancellations Author: joemvcnj NPRocky Wrote:

Remembering 1977-78, if only we could abolish steam heat, if only we could rebuild Chicago PC 12th Street, if only we could acquire new locomotives, if only we could take over trackage in Michigan, if only we could get new corridor coaches. Oops, done all that. > And I too am shocked that RPA isn't saying anything about this. I'd be shocked if they did say anything about Mama Amtrak's 3rd world performance, or some of the enroute state ARPS for that matter. Some NARP person wrote a blog piece a couple of months ago about another 12 hour Michigan meltdown, but only because that person was personally caught up in it. Amtrak regards Congress as its customer, not the passengers. As long as they get their appropriation, they're good. Their public Board meetings are a theatre of snowjobs. NARP regards Amtrak as its customer, not the members. They will scold a member or a council person not in the right clique who gets out of line and reminds them otherwise and will revoke their membership of repeat offenses It is a high school club or college frat. They rebranded themselves RPA to get the word "National" out of their name to placate Mama. There, the circle is complete. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/02/26 10:10 by joemvcnj. All will be forgotten and the buffs will be back talking about new trains, new routes and the latest paint phase. Date: 02/02/26 18:44 Re: Storm Fern Cancellations Author: Drknow Englewood Wrote:

Sadly, Englewood hits the nail on the head. Amjoke can’t run the skeleton network it has now on a 75 degree sunny day; has reached critical stage in loss of functional locomotion, coaches, management, and institutional knowledge, and yet some still have no trouble wasting what little fortune there is on studies and consulting. Amjoke has got to get functional locomotion, coaches management, and associated infrastructure that can get the company on some sort of even keel. NO talk of expansion or other pie in the sky dreams until Amjoke can at least be seen as some sort of dependable transportation for America. Regards Posted from iPhone |
