NJ, NY: Feds resume Gateway Tunnel Funding

Bergen Record reports that the federal government made a $30 million payment to the Gateway Development Corporation.  Good news.

This is a small part of the funding expected on this tranche of the project.

I agree, they were already ahead of schedule, hopefully they can at least get it done on time!

Political games. Expect more of it. Come on now.........Honestly - if re-naming NY Penn Station to "Trump Penn Station" gets the job done and funded - just do it. I could care a less what the heck it is called. We need the NEW and UPDATED infrastructure in place. Change the name after he is out of office if needed.

Tuesday: NJ.com reports that another $77 million has been released to the Gateway Tunnel construction account.

Good news for the project.

Although the feds have been releasing meaningful amounts of the impounded funds, President Trump has not been pleased.  According to several insiders, he still wants Dulles Airport and NY Penn Station named after him. Adding the Gateway Tunnel would be nice.

He sees blocking the Tunnel as the best way to squeeze Leader  Schumer into agreeing to the name changes.
