Passenger Trains > Palmetto 90-25

Does anybody know what happened to this guy today? He was on time or early for most of the run, but took a huge hit south of Rocky Mount and ended up being about 8 hours late through Ashland. Somewhere along the way it picked up a CSXT leader and the P42 looked like it had picked a fight with a rabid raccoon, but I didn't see anything about it hitting anything along the way. It had been stopped south of Rocky Mount due to a "temporary hold on the tracks placed by local municipal officials," which I know has been used to say they hit someone or something.

Two of my friends are actually on the train. Car went around the gates and hit the side of the single P42 locomotive. Impact damaged the air system so the train was stuck and after the investigation they had to get a CSX engine to haul it. There's a video of the car doing its thing if you search for it.

Passed the Ashland, Va. webcam at 1:17 am, moving slowly behind a CSX locomotive. Following times courtesy of dixielandsoftware.net. Given that it lost more time consistently as it went north until it reached the NEC, I assume the train speed was limited. 
WLN Departed:  20 minutes late.
RMT Departed:  4 hours, 4 minutes late.
PTB  Departed:  6 hours, 5 minutes late.
RVR Departed:  7 hours, 57 minutes late.
ALX Departed:  9 hours, 30 minutes late.
WAS Arrived:  9 hours, 33 minutes late.
NYP Arrived:  9 hours, 50 minutes late.
