PA question
Author: Woodman

Are there any more Santa Fe PA's in existence? If so where? What museum's? Needless to say, I love PAs and run one on my Clubs railroad in OK City. Lots more character than F7's, but I love them also. Thanks ahead for any help someone may have.

To general knowledge there is the one and only operable PA in Pennsylvania with total thanks to Dale McCormack and the Delaware - Lackawanna and assistance from the Smithsonian Institute for repatriating two wrecks from Mexico, the only other US PA is the unrestored wreck is in Texas. And there are two PAs on display in Mexico.
So unless you own an A.C. Gilbert vintage American Flyer S Gauge or a modern day Lionel PA, there are no others. Gone, long gone.
Alco PAs in other scales???

Several companies have produced HO scale Alco PAs including Athearn, Walthers, and most recently, Rapido.

Were it not for their prolonged lives on VIA Rail and the LIRR, the Alco FA's might have had as poor a preservation record.

Were it not for the D&H, the PA's would probably have been made extinct.

I believe there are several operating 1 1/2" scale PAs operating around the country at various live steam railroads.  I know one is located in the greater Kansas City but have not seen it  run in several years.  Last time that I know for sure the PA (ATSF war bonnet scheme) was running on a private railroad near St Cloud, Minnesota.  I will look for a picture or two and post if I can find them.  In the meantime, how about a Pennsy FA/FB set from my private railroad?

A lot of work going on to restore the PA at The Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco, TX. Doyle McCormick was our inspiration and we won’t stop until it is fully restored and it is in its AT&SF Warbonnet paint. Come see us as work progresses.

I think there are one or more wide gauge units in Brazil.  I don't know if only the trucks are different or if that changes the body.

The PA's in Brazil had 5  foot gauge wheels as opposed to  4' 812 "   ,  3 1/2' wider gauge  . The carbody is the same as other PA's  I believe .

And here I thought this post was a question about Pennsylvania...

Subject line should indicate ALCo PA to avoid confusion...
