Passenger Trains > Philly skyline - Day (w/ HHPC & Acela) and Night in the snow!Date: 03/02/26 15:42 Philly skyline - Day (w/ HHPC & Acela) and Night in the snow! Author: Mgoldman Raced down to Penn Park in Philly back on February 24th to take advantage of the last day
of snow on the ground and got an HHP-C test train in daylight, and the prize - a Regional, after dark utilizing the snow for a little boost in what would otherwise have been quite a dark scene! First shot - caught me by surprise - a nice one at that, as there were no other trains before the shadows arrived. HHP-C test train with AMTK 9752 trailing. Second shot - AMTK No. 656 leads a Regional south towards Washington DC - the train was going slow enough, I was able to shoot at 1/320th f/ 2.8. The streaks - a result of shooting through 4" or so of slightly scratched plexiglass. /Mitch Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/02/26 22:51 by Mgoldman. It's been 20 years since I was last in Philly, and your pictures capture so much of what I found interesting in the train scenes around there. You have a real talent for capturing stunning photos of the area, I really like #2. Sure need to go back and do some more exploring!

And yes - changes taking place quite rapidly - everytime I come back to this location, there's another skyscraper. Philly's growing and changing fast! Maybe if it were growing a little bit faster, I would not have ran out of backdrop on this one, lol: /Mitch |
