You have to wonder how much capacity there really is on this route if they close it every year for track maintenance?

How does that help the operating ratio, after all? I would argue that it does, or should, but capital investment by the rails seems to have stagnated, just like their traffic levels. No vision, no creativity, dim future IMHO. Things need to change. But since the CEOs worship at the alter of Wall Street and quarterly returns, I do not expect change.

I'm on 20 from New Orleans to Clemson SC next Wednesday. I don't know when they resumed full service on the route but I can assure you they've resumed it for today!
