Being a Amtrak Guest Select Plus member, when I purchase a $1000 Amtrak trip with my Amtrak credit card, how many TQPs and points will I earn at the end of my trip?

Well if train leaves Chicago at 3pm and travels at 50 miles per hour, you'll earn 3000 points from the card spend and 2000 tier qualfying points from the travel, provided you aren't in business or acela first class.

I believe points are 2 for every dollar spent.  There is a 25% bonus for biz class and 50% for Acela first class.  The value of an Amtrak point is high at 2.6 cents per point.  Compare that with 0.8 cents per point for Marriott and 0.4 to 0.6 cents a point at Hilton.

Don't forget the 3x points for every dollar spent on the Amtrak Rewards credit card for Amtrak travel.
