Siemens Mobility plant in Lexington, North Carolina

Today was the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the Siemens Mobility Passenger Car plant in Lexington, North Carolina. They had a great turnout including the NC Governor, many from Amtrak and lots of state and local dignitaries. They had about an hour of speech making followed by a wonderful tour of the entire facility, which is huge, and has quite a few buildings. Afterwards lunch was served for everyone. They are currently working on a 25 car order for Amtrak, but as they gear up they will be producing lots more.  They begin their second shift come Monday as they are hiring more and more qualified workers. Very exciting day for North Carolina!

This plant is for building passenger cars, and service work on engines and light rail vehicles. It is served off of the NS mainline for easy access by rail.

They build the shells from kits, manufactor the sub-assemblies, install the seating, etc. Quite an operation!

Siemens put out a great video today touring the facility and construction process.

I saw it on Tik Tok. I assume it can also be viewed on you tube

The interiors look very similar to BrightLine's interior, based on the picture of the facing seats and table. Hope they are as comfortable

Airos train sets have a cab coach at one end. But are the regular coaches any different from Venture?
