Passenger Trains > Carl Sandburg 381-382 EquipmentDate: 04/06/26 11:33 Carl Sandburg 381-382 Equipment Author: Arkrail Is the Carl Sandburg currently running with Venture coaches and an Amfleet food car? If so, what configuration of Amfleet car is used - I read elsewhere that an Amdinette has been used some, but that doesn't seem to fit with the current mindset of offering only minimal table seating. Is the business class in one end of the Amfleet car or in a section of one of the Venture coaches?

Date: 04/07/26 09:02 Re: Carl Sandburg 381-382 Equipment Author: redspeed Carl Sandburg/Illinois Zephyr 381/382 and 380/383 all come from the same Midwest equipment pool of Venture coaches, cafe cars (when available) and Siemens SC-44's for power. Sometimes an Amfleet cafe car is used if a venture cafe car is not available. The position of the cafe car can vary but its usually behind the power or at the rear of the train.
