Passenger Trains > The 3rd Los Angeles to SLO starting May 4th 2026

Looks like they are slowly getting the word out about the 3rd Round trip between Los Angeles San Luis Obispo.
This is about second or third new story being put out there. Wish them luck on getting ridership on this run.

Have they built the Ortega siding yet? It is a long way without a siding between Santa Barbara and Seacliff.

Here is a LOSSAN presentation that was on the agenda last month..
The Ortega Siding wont be built until at least 2029, if they are lucky

Have they posted a schedule yet of the new trains?.  When I click on the link for the new schedule, I get an error message.  It would  be nice to know when the trains will be run so that bookings and plans can be made.  Does anyone know what the final schedules are for all the trains to San Luis Obisbo and whether any of the other trains have schedule changes?  Also, with the new trains, will the U.P. make all the new CTC controlled sidings available to use that the State of California paid for? Or will the U.P. keep them used for freight car storage so they won't be used for meets?

It's basically leave LA at 5AM, arr SLO at 11AM, turn the train and head south, leaving SLO at 12 noon and arriving in LA at 6 PM.

Departures from LA:
5:13 am - Pacific Surfliner**
9:13 am - Pacific Surfliner
9:51 am - Coast Starlight
3:13 pm - Pacific Surfliner

** This  train is being heavily marketed as serving the upper Pacific Surfliner Corridor for rush hour traffic into Santa Barbara etc. 

Departures from San Luis Obispo:
6:11 am - Pacific Surfliner
12:12 pm - Pacific Surfliner
3:37 pm - Coast Starlight
4:17 pm - Pacific Surfliner
