Passenger Trains > Amtrak Inspection Cars

Beech Grove, Pacific Bend, Corridor Clipper and Corridor View arriving into Chicago on a very early 49 just moments ago. I sure am glad I have this week off and am able to capture so many special moves. This is my first time seeing Corridor View. It has observation windows cut in vs a theater car piece of glass like American View.

7 with 301 trailing today. 

3 or 5 has 61 trailing. This engine was on 380 Saturday, on the Hiawatha Sunday and Monday. And today it's going to the west coast. It sure is getting around. 

Diesel shop work tracks with 90200 (out of public view under the bridge) and 90221 in view just south of the bridge.

More diesels awaiting work. 

50 all made up will have engine 79 in the new livery will lead 50 east of Indy. A Viewliner Diner and Viewliner bag as buffer will go to Beech Grove. They are awaiting tonight's "shuttle motor" to Indy yet. 

Double blue F40s. A rare sight to see in 2026. I didn't make it over in time to get a better shot.

90200 is actually back on the Hiawatha on 329/336/337 today. That must be why it was under the bridge and separated from 90221 yesterday. Let's see how long it lasts this time...

Great shots Seth , thank you !  The 10005 is nameless but does the OCS inspections that 10002 Corridor Clipper did  , 10006 showed up in February 2026 .  10002 does still operate but more for the Engineering Department it seems .

What are they going to inspect ?

The Amtrak Michigan line tomorrow on 350/355 before returning to the East Coast. 

Always pleaewd to see Pacific Bend out and about.

My then-recently-widowed farher and I rode it in a double bedroom from Harrisburg to Chicago in the spring of 1985, a trip always to be remembered. We had been booked out of DC on the Capitol, which was annulled by a derailment on the B&O.
Amtrak bused us to H'burg, and had added extra equipment (remember when they could do that?) to the westbound Broadway to accommodate the rerouted Capitol Limited passengers.
