Passenger Trains > Borealis and a HiawathaDate: 04/09/26 10:58 Borealis and a Hiawatha Author: sethamtrak Borealis 1333 was on-time into Glenview. 517 leading due to a P42 shortage.
Hiawatha 334 was a little late, the dispatcher ran them around the inbound scoot from A20 to Mayfair to save time. 514 running due to 90221 being down. And two chargers on the north end. The first one had a PTC issue, so they tacked another one on top for 331 after 330 arrived. Hiawatha 335 I think

Sounded like a speedometer issue and subsequent PTC issues per the radio traffic I heard. 337 was canned with some passengers riding 7. 337's deadhead equipment was behind (a late) Hiawatha 339. Engine 63 caps off the bad 90200. It lasted 9 or 10 days this time I believe. Better luck next time.

It looks like they are building a little tank underneath the track next to the wheel house. I think its a DEF refilling station with spill pans underneath the tracks. Right now, DEF is delivered trackside via an enterprise box truck with a tank mounted inside. Date: 04/10/26 08:51 Re: Borealis and a Hiawatha Author: amtrakbill sethamtrak Wrote:
