Train 138(21) with engine 309, 9 cars and 113 customers was delayed departing Norfolk, VA due to mechanical issues with engine 309. The train was having faults with the alerter on engine 309 The crew contacted CNOC mechanical to troubleshoot. Mechanical was able to walk the crew through ratifying the situation. The parking brake had been set on the engine. Train 138 departed Norfolk at 13:48, 51 minutes late.Train 643(21) wit engines 632, 643, 5 cars and 175 customers was delayed departing New York due to engine 632 being shaped and removed from the consist for hot box motor issues. Train 640(21) arrived in New York with the equipment for train 643(21) at 08:45. Engine 632 was removed. Engine 643 was run around so that it was in place to operate the set west. The train departed New York at09:59 with one engine. Once train 643 arrived in Philly, engine 656 was added to operate in the lead to Harrisburg. Train 718(21) with cab car 90278, 5 cars and engine 2104 was reported with cab car speedometer issues that affected normal operation. To protect service, 717(21) with 47 customers onboard was held at Stockton to swap equipment upon the arrival of 718. This allowed the set to travel back westward with 90278 trailing for overnight inspection at the Oakland shops. Once the swap was complete, both trains departed. 718 took a 9 minute delay and 717 took a 56 minute delay. Train 48(21) with engines 112, 110, 10 cars and 275 customers was delayed departing Chicago due to a hot bearing detection fault on engine 110. Diesel techs responded from the yard and cleared the fault. The crew requested mechanical assistance again for the same fault. The issue was determined to be a known issue of false positives reported by 110 and train 48 was ordered to depart CUS. Departed CUS 52 minutes late. Train 528(21) with engine 2004, 5 cars, and 19 customers was delayed departing San Jose, CA with the crew reporting a main reservoir issue with engine 2004. The crew worked with TASI to troubleshoot the the issue, and the train departed 44 minutes late after the issue was resolved. ___________________________ Train 609(22) Newark, NJ - with cab car 9651, 4 cars and engine 658 with 177 customers was delayed at Newark due to HEP and power loss upon arriving at stations. The engineer found loose HEP cables that were able to be tightened. Power was restored and the train was back on the move. The issue continued and mechanical was requested in Philadelphia. Mechanical could not find the cause and engine658 wasted ordered. It was swapped with engine 650. 11 minute delay Newark and 54 minute delay in Philly. Train 74(22) Greensboro, NC - with engine NC 103, 4 cars, engine NC 1984 and 85 customers lost HEP after arriving in Greensboro. A traction motor and IETMS fault showed on engine 1984 and was not able to be resolved. The train was terminated in Greensboro and alternate transportation sourced. Passengers were able to board train 76. 95(22) S of Providence, RI - (see screenshot) 98(22) - N of Miami, FL - engines 98, 81, 10 cars and 59 passengers experienced multiple PTC issues. 1 hour and 32 minute cumulative delay.
