Passenger Trains > FL: BrightLine / FEC suicide, safety improvementsDate: 05/06/26 09:25 FL: BrightLine / FEC suicide, safety improvements Author: Lackawanna484 I noticed this morning that BrightLine and Florida East Coast now have highly visible white posts at some grade crossings in the Stuart area. And warning signs offering a phone number for folks to call if they are having suicidal thoughts. Both are new in this area, although I think similar posts were installed in Melbourne earlier this year.
There are posts along the sidewalk approaching the tracks, and between the tracks, and on the far side of the tracks. Suicides seem to be down this year, and I'm not aware of any recent vehicles turning onto the railroad tracks. If I get out later, I'll take some pictures.
