This would be an "empty" train with the Amtrak American View on rear headed to the new Wye to turn. Those NCDOT 1-800-BY-TRAIN signs are common near lines that host passenger service - Piedmont does not offer service right here, just now starting to use it to access wye for turning, but this is the route the Crescent uses. NC Ferry Service signs are also common as you approach the coast. NCDOT using their right of way for advertising their services. Date: 05/08/26 17:02 Re: The Sign Says It All! Author: gandydancer4 I t would be a LOT EASIER to travel if the governement MANDATED THAT NOTHING GOES BY TRUCK over 250 miles. Some of these guys think they're Mario Andretti or AJ Foyt on the Interstate ( Remember, Google is your friend )

Especially considering the fact that we DON'T have enough crews for the trains now..... Posted from Android Date: 05/09/26 09:17 Re: The Sign Says It All! Author: ctillnc WIll all the Piedmonts turn on the new wye in west Charlotte, and if so, does this mean NCDOT no longer has to put a second locomotive or a cab control car on every consist? They have been running bidirectional consists for many years.

So, you somehow think that produce grown in the Salinas Valley of California and going to markets in the Greater Metro Phoenix AZ market should be picked and packed, loaded into a refrigerator trailer or container, taken to a local intermodel yard in the Salinas Valley (that does not today exist), at some point loaded onto an intermodal train in the Salinas Valley, the train then takes about 16-24 hours to get to an intermodal yard somewhere near Phoenix, unloaded from the train, then drayed to the market DC. |
