First videos ever to TO
Todays catches  4 trains in 20 min. 
#1 711 Gold Runner (dumb name) westbound at Crockett CA 10 min west of Martinez with Venture cars.

#2 believe #733 westbound Capitol at Crockett with Cal Train engine. Wesbound at 1105a

other two were an eastbound San Joaquin (oops Gold runner) with full set of California cars and an eastbound Capitol.

Then I went to the Crockett model railroad and had a blast. Lots of the members also volunteer at NCRY as I do is why I found out about it.
Next venture will be at Fremont to catch the soccer ACE and Amtrak specials eastbound at dusk July 1. Will post if that works out.

Why the CAL CAR on the back of the San Joaquin?  

Its just classic stupidity.    There something wrong with the  venture cab cars that prervents them from being used as cab cars. , so they put a Calif cab car i front of it so they have a working cab car for push mode.    I would have thought they would have had the venture cab cars fixed by now...LOL

I'm wondering if, once Amtrak starts getting Cascades Airo trainsets into service out of Seattle, it might send some of our old F40 cab-baggage cars to help out in northern California. We have three that aren't painted in Cascades colors (90222, 90229, 90250), though 90229 has been out of service for some time. That's assuming we don't have shunting troubles with the new Airo cab baggage cars. The encouraging news there is that there's no history of any shunting problems in the Cascades Corridor that I know of, going all the way back to the beginning of Amtrak. That's even with trains as short as one engine and two cars. Admittedly the cars on those short trains were Superliners.
