"On #3, having just left Chicago at 1:30. Our SCA just informed us they neglected to stock the dining car while the train was in Chicago." With any fast acting 'management' dinner could have been put on at Galesburg and more supplies later at KC.. Name any other company sending out a train, plane or ship for a almost 45 hour trip with no food and no one noticing.

Plus catering would have an order just sitting for delivery.

The train departing without stock doesn't surprise me in the least. The career railroaders that once managed Amtrak have long retired--leaving the children unattended. Date: 07/05/26 20:29 Re: Uh... We forgot...! Author: NPRocky I think RPA has really gotten into the politics and complex legislative maneuverings of passenger rail and away from operations and service. Personally, I find the politics of passenger rail incredibly complex and utterly boring, though I admit it's important.
