Passenger Trains > CZ #6(5) running 7 hours late at Melia

Beth and I caught the eastbound Zephyr in the daylight at Melia, Nebraska which is a BNSF siding location and is actually the ruling grade on between Chicago and Denver, if you take the Omaha Sub. Its located about halfway between Lincoln and Omaha.

These videos were both skillfully shot by my Lovely Lady, Bethan. I am the person seen in blue in both videos by the tripod, but the clips I shot are too large to upload here (but are on YouTube under OmahaTom). Shot on 7/7/2026. at 10:50 AM

Video 2) Amtrak is seen departing the Omaha Station on the passenger siding as a local BNSF freight passes through the station on the main line. The Zephyr soon overtook the freight as it headed east into Iowa. 7/7/2026 11:45

Rises from elevation of 1,035 ft to 1,225 ft (190 feet) over about 5.5 miles, maximum grade of 0.95%.
