You can't get away with anything anymore with surveillance cameras.  

Back in the day before camera's on public buses were a thing a SEPTA bus in West Philadelphia hit the back of a truck.  The bus driver said there were 7 people on the bus but almost 30 local residents showed up at the hospital with neck injuries.  Hopefully no one was injured on this light rail vehicle but at least there will be an accurate count.

I thought for sure this was going to be an Amtrak mechanical department video.

All the more reason to ensure two qualified employees in an operating cab at all times. Don't rely on any technology.

Reminds me of the time that the MTA in New York staged a fake bus crash, and dozens of people ran to the "wreck" to later file claims. All who did so were eventually cited.

At what point did the operator realize there goes my job?

It's SF Muni.  DEI will save his job.

I wonder if he's the same operator who dozed off and caused a N Judah LRV to overspeed inside the Sunset Tunnel back in October of last year? If true, then you have "proof" that MUNI don't fire people.

My quick research says the video was "leaked" anonymously and went viral on social media.

Sorry to spoil the humor session in this thread - the leaker should be worried as much as the dozing operator for his job. Surveillance and retribution isn't limited to inward facing cameras today.
