Passenger Trains > Info on no. 6(29) on Sunday delay?

The CZ had a major delay Sunday between Glenwood Springs and Granby. Any information?

I assume you mean 6? A boulder fell onto the track somewhere in that stretch. Around 4pm the decision was made to return the train to Glenwood so that passengers could get out and stretch their legs.  The boulder was cleared around 9pm.  

I was in Denver this weekend after my own trip on 6(27). Arrived early at Denver after a largely uneventful trip. 

5 was over 2 hours late getting into SLC last night 8/30/26. Anyone know anything about that? Same rock maybe?

From friends traveling earlier in the week through freight on the line is causing 1-2 hour delays, but this is generally made up in the padding. Lots of that area still uses DRGW era signaling and a bunch of the sidings are out of service so a signaling failure might create a sizable single track segment.

and it would be nice if they still used Rio Grande-era anticipatory rockfall management, too. Boulders above the tracks were pre-emptively dynamited before they could fall on tbe right-of-way.
