Passenger Trains > Angels Flight

We took a trip to Southern California earlier this month and I finally got to ride Angles Flight.  Have been trying for more than 20 years, ever since my wife took me to visit downtown LA on one of our trips to visit her family.  Even with a few work trips to LA, I never ended up riding it because of closures or schedules.  So this trip to LA we made sure it would happen, first exploring Grand Central Market (a favorite spot of my wife's family) and then walking across the street to ride the "shortest railway".  It's a fun little ride, and then I showed my kids around Bunker Hill for a bit, including the office building I visited a few times for a previous job.  We bought the round trip tickets when we got off at the top, and enjoyed the quick ride back down the hill.  The lady at the ticket office was very nice, I asked her about the train and she mentioned it's computer controlled but she can override it to hold the train as needed while people get on.  It wasn't crowded, but there were other riders both ways plus people waiting to board when we got off.

Nice to finally get one of my train rides completed - still plenty left on the list, even just counting the ones in California.

My kids loved the painting on the old Pacific Electric Subway Terminal building, a few of them thought there were real people working on the building.  I had forgotten about the painting, had seen it on a previous visit and loved it.
