Passenger Trains > Both train due Miami 9/2 running late

Train 41 - Floridian
Departed Chicago on time, departed Pittsburgh on time.  Between Pittsburgh and Connelsville, Train 41 was stopped due to downed trees blocking the tracks and a mechanical assessment. "Your train is now en route to Connellsville (COV) station where our mechanical team will assess the complications causing the delay. An estimate of 30 minutes is anticipated for the mechanical team's arrival"   That sounds like Amtrekeese for they hit a downed tree.. 2:50 late into DC, 3:37 late out of DC (additional "Mechanical Assessment", so maybe engine swap?) Made up a little time down the Silver Star leg of the trip and was 3:15 late of out Jacksonville

Train 97 - Silver Meteor
3:31 late of of New York due to "Late release from the maintenance facility" Lost no more time headed south, leaving Rocky Mount NC the same 3:31 late. North of Fayetteville NC, train held "due to a municipal services hold affecting the tracks". That is Amtrakeese for they struck a trespasser. Roughly 3 hour delay. Train just out of Charleston SC, running 6:14 late.

I used to wonder why my area suspension bridges suffered from so many disabled vehicles.  It was almost like people's cars were waiting for the worst possible location to break down. Then someone told me that "disabled vehicle" was a euphemism for a suicide. It wasn't technically inaccurate since in those cases someone had parked their vehicle on the bridge before jumping, but it also didn't tell the whole story. 

#97 had a good run for a week of on time departures from NYP. Yesterday was an issue,
the Crescent at 2pm is always on the money, not yesterday, departed 1:39 late, but has
made up that time by Greenville SC. The Lake Shore departed on time at 3:40pm, why was
#49 on time but not #97 at 2:30pm?
