CDTX 2008 leaves the station in a hurry, notice the CDTX above the number. When did they start applying the owner id on these units?

Centerville, CA is located in Fremont, CA. Fremont is located about 30 miles south of Oakland or San Francisco in the state of California. This website has a map of the RR track configuration in the Fremont - Centerville area: http://www5.pair.com/rattenne/BayAreaRR/bayarea.htm

The Centerville depot even has its own website that is located here:

Fremont I know -- Centerville I had never heard of. Is it one of those made-up place names?

Centerville is a district in Fremont, it was a town before Fremont was incorporated in the late 1950s. Therefore, locals refer to this station as Centerville.

Well, eveyone and their mama including dispatchers, UP crews and railfans alike used get the reporting marks for the Amtrak Cali equipment wrong misstating it as AMTK so-and-so over ther radio. Also, when these nine original order F59PHI's were sent to Boise, ID for rebuilding last year, they were sent via the UP on several freight trains with the normal yard waybill classification system. Without the correct "CDTX" reporting marks on the units, this dead-in-train "freight car" was hard to identify by the Bay Area passenger train uneducated U.P. crews. Not saying that they were really uneducated but unless you are from the area and work for the RR out here or railfan it, I don't think anyone would know what CDTX is or stands for.

A lot of the "going to rebuild" F59PHI's deaprting West Oakland on the U.P.'s MOARV had "CDTX" spray painted on on the cab side under the windows.
