Passenger Trains > Caltrain revised schedule already?

Caltrain's new (1 August) timetable shows afternoon expresses leaving SF at 4:00/5:00/6:00, and so does the website-- but it seems the actual schedule is 4:03 (and 5:03/6:03?). Are all stops for all three trains actually scheduled three minutes later than the timetable shows?

Even those signboards they place above the SF traingates still show even-hour departures. I can imagine they wouldn't bother to change the printed timetable, but can't they change the sign-- and the website?

There was an article in the newspaper, forget whether it was the Chronicle or Examiner, explaining that Caltrain will make changes to the schedule to go into effect in October.

According to a track bulletin that's been out for a couple of weeks now, yes.

Like fjc mentioned, the entire timetable is being revised slightly effective October 10th, so in the mean time it's not really a big priority to change the signs/website since the three trains in question only run 3 minutes later than the advertised.

October 10th those 4:00p, 5:00p and 6:00p Bullets will be moved to 33 minutes after the hour.

You mean the local-then-express and express-then-local trains? They started 1 August too.

Yes, the trains I mentioned are the second batch of expresses, giving San Mateo, Redwood City, Menlo Park and Sunnyvale their first express trains.

When are we getting Bullet service on the weekends????

I'd ride the train on weekends if there were bullet service. Unfortunately it's too damn slow...

So I have one burning question!!

Is this one going to work any better than the ******** mess we have now?

Today I was delayed out of San Jose, and the north desk had me going up the #3 at Bowers to Hendy despite my not stopping at Lawrence. The most color I got was an approach, the rest were advanced approaches near Redwood City and everything else was green, I kept rolling along at a reasonable clip instead of poking along on approaches the whole way. This was by and far the best day I've had running 263 in the time since we've implimented the new schedule, I even stopped at Bay Meadows and I was maintaining my 2-3 min shortfall and didn't even get passed by 365 (for a change). So it shows right there thanks to the initial delays, that with just a bit of revision the 263 train will work just fine, we can only hope that scheduling folks have listened to the passengers and operating folks and made the appropriate changes.

Time will tell!
