Photo #2 – If I recall Mr. Uhrich’s explanation correctly, these frames are somehow used to hold the molds when they are refabricating or fabricating from scratch a locomotive part.

Photo #4 – Of course the Uhrich Locomotive Works would have to be located on “Railroad Avenue”.

Photo #5 – Inside the massive Quonset Hut Mr. Uhrich showed us the new cab for the #9. Obvious that a master carpenter has been hard at work.

Photo #6 – Working on the C&S #9. I took this photo on 6/27/2005. Mr. Uhrich said the #9 would be ready to return to the Georgetown Loop in about 3 weeks time. Possibly by now the work is complete.

Photo #13 – Here is the cab from the Colorado & Northwestern #30. Restoring the #30 will be a 24-36 month job and cost $255,000.00. The last word I heard is that the Colorado Historical Society is deciding whether or not to restore the #30 to operational condition. If they decided against this expenditure, it will be cosmetically restored only, then returned to Boulder, Colorado.

Photo #14 – The #30 sitting in Strasburg. Mr. Uhrich showed us many of the problems with the #30. Major problems. Numerous cracks in the frame, the firebox would need replacing, on and on.
