Hi, an empty can train derail in Janaúba, MG yesterday due to a washout of the tracks after heavy rains. The engineer was enjuried and sent to hospital.
Locomotives were U20C 3857, 2564 and 2683. 3857 is the orange one seen inside the river. This train was formed here in my town.

that is impressive that he survived that wreck given the area he seems to be trapped in and the water surrounding him. This would have been a tragic story had the engine turned on its side.

Wow, I wouldn't have thought anybody could survive in a cab that got ripped up that badly.

The photo shows the engineer auxiliary. He had a broken leg and couldn't leave the cab until the rescue team arrive. The engineer could leave the cab and look for help to his fellow.

poor men, wonder how long for a rescue, bet it seemed like eternity.

tough guys i would have gone into shock with that cold mud water, it could have been higher when the wreck occurred

One of the worst railroad wrecks I can think of; a miracle everyone survived.
If you get photos of the clean up please show them as well.
All very interesting, yet scary, and thanks for showing here.
