International Railroad Discussion > Any information on the railroads in North Korea?Date: 12/05/17 06:00 Any information on the railroads in North Korea? Author: pedrop Hi, I would like to know if someone here in TO had pictures or information on railroads in North Korea. With the possibility of a terrible nuclear war in that area, I imagine that the railroads there will be completed destroyed. What will disappear in terms of railroad history?

Author: usmc1401 North Korea railroads interchange with China and Russia. The north is standard gauge needing a truck change with Russia. Another forum has more info. Will look it up and post the name.
Date: 12/05/17 13:42 Re: Any information on the railroads in North Korea? Author: GettingShort I have some pictures taken on my tours of the DPRK in 2013 and 2014. The tours weren't at all rail oriented so I had to grab what I could get.
You can find a few others at: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjNXizeM and https://flic.kr/s/aHsjZPNRYn The Pyongyang to Beijing train at Pyongyang. A Soviet built M62 type diesel. The National Railway Museum in Pyongyang, DPRK. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 12/05/17 14:12 by GettingShort. Date: 12/06/17 01:21 Re: Any information on the railroads in North Korea? Author: andersonb109 Why anyone would risk their life going there and support this horrible repressive regimen is beyond me. I did a tour to China in 2004 and there as an extension to N. Korea for the Britts on the tour. They went by train from Beijing. Our guide refereed to it as "The Axis of Evil Express" after the appropriate name President Bush had assigned to the country. Hopefully someday soon "Little Rocket Man" will be overthrown and we will be able to go there and enjoy whatever steam remains.

You will see mines, mills, yards, etc.
