gobbl3gook has led me astray and took me back to fondly remembered trips to Cuba.
Picture 1 - The group in 2008. Our leader on the left was a superb cyclist and lover of steam. Even has his own operating steam locomotive. Cyclists 3 and 6 were less fit cyclists. Just a few months before, cyclist 4 had cycled across Canada from Victoria to St. Johns NF. In 2009 she cycled Cairo to Capetown!
Picture 2 - Cyclist 6 had a breakdown and we decided to take the train into Bayamo. There were other bikes on the train as well. We did have some problem paying the fare which was something like 5 cents.

Cuba has been on my bucket list for a bicycle/train adventure.

Maybe winter 2019.

Looking at the rail coverage, if there are actually trains running on these lines, then Cuba has the most comprehensive passenger rail system of any country in the Western Hemisphere...
