Netflix is currently streaming a three episode 2015 BBC TV series entitled "India's Frontier Railways" that documents trips on The Samjhauta Express (Pakistan-India), the Maitree
(Bangladesh-India), and the "The Last Train in Nepal." I've seen the first two episodes and they are equal parts RR ops, area culture and demography, and personal stories of the riders, crew, and others. Quite interesting for both railfans and non-railfans!

There's a more recent series "Great Indian Railway Journeys" by Michael Portillo,
that's just finished its first run on BBC Two. It's pretty good too.
Michael Portillo is a TV personality and former minister in Margaret Thatcher's government.
He's also done many seasons of "Great British Railway Journeys", Great Continental Railway Journeys"
and one season of "Great American Railroad Journeys".

Just finished watching the 4th and final episode of “Mumbai Railway” on Netflix. Excellent presentation on one of India’s busiest train stations, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. Plus extra discussions of Neale Token system, the pass at Bhor Ghat, the Darjeeling Railway, shops, control center, driver training simulator, and more.
