Mexicana de Cobre CF 7 Nacozari Mexico
Author: mundo

When the new smelter opened north of Nacozari Mexico, June 1986,  ex AT&SF CF 7 2423 and 2431 provided the power to interchange with the Pacifico Railroad of Mexico  (ex SP de Mexico) at Calabazas siding kp 298.5, 26 km north of Nacozari.  This is now the end of the Nacozari branch as it no longer operates to its namesake city.  Photo by Ed VonNordeck

The color seems to match the dust surrounding it.

I pity the fools that have to run and maintain that pile.

I was thinking the same thing....they never have to clean it.  Wonder if it's still operating.  Way back when, the F.C. Nacozari had a Baldwin C-C road switcher down there.

and in the steam days used 4-8-0's.

But remember the photo is from a newer industry line, not the main branch line.
