South Africa’s Snake City

In a recent episode of Snake City, the snake catchers caught a snake on a steam train that was billed as a commuter train. Are there really steam commuter trains around Durbin?

There are no regular steam passenger services remaining in South Africa. Steam has also been banned from all main lines for a number of years. The only commuter lines in the world that are regularly steam worked are out of Wolsztyn, Poland. And without further government assistance combined with modernization on one of the two lines, they probably won't last too much longer.
