International Railroad Discussion > Vietnam railroads in 1967 - an article in a brazilian magazineDate: 03/16/19 19:49 Vietnam railroads in 1967 - an article in a brazilian magazine Author: pedrop Hi, while I was looking up on old railroad articles and news on ancient magazines and newspapers here in Brazil, I found this interesting article on the railroads in Vietnam in 1967.
The article is in portuguese, but the photos are nice and interesting to see. The magazine is called O Cruzeiro, dated from November 18, 1967. The article title is " A train called danger" Pedro Pedro Rezende Vespasiano MG, Date: 03/16/19 19:54 Re: Vietnam railroads in 1967 - an article in a brazilian magazin Author: pedrop More pages.
The locomotives looks like GE U5´s also common found here in Brazil Pedro Rezende Vespasiano MG, https://youtube.com/c/minasgeraisrailways1 Date: 03/16/19 21:25 Re: Vietnam railroads in 1967 - an article in a brazilian magazin Author: Milepost_130 Including a steam-powered rack railway! Jerry Pinkepank wrote the article and Paul Stephanus, the author of the Brazilian article, was credited with "Data" for the TRAINS article. I thought the photos looked familiar. The TRAINS article was longer and included a lot more technical detail.

The National Geographic had a very good similar story back in the 1960s including the Wickham Trolleys, one of which the author was riding when if wrecked. Those GE U6Bs are still running in Vietnam today.
