Interesting to see EF65 is pulling EF64. This is very tricky photos.  They cannot MUed together and run, but towing mode, only break lines were connected.
Paragraphs were down on EF64. Otherwise, two crew modes to run both engines, just two steam engines running together.
Note this EF64 was freight version; thus without HEQ on board, instead of, it is equipped with extra weight.

2nd photo.  EF65 is wearing JR Freight scheme. This is one of the 3rd batch production group engines. (Builder Toshiba and assigned to Suita No 2 engine house)

3rd photo; Class 28 and 58 DMUs MUed together.  These cars were equipped with ACs (see a small boxes on the roof.)
To use these ACs on the roof, Class 28 is equipped with a generator under the floor to provide power to itself and to class 58 MUed next to it.
Since Class 58 has not equipped with a generator.  This set of DMUs were assigned to the Express train.

What a contrast to today's Kyoto staton.
