Hi, Progress Rail SD70ACe/45 waiting to be moved by truck to VLI broad gauge tracks in FNS railroad in the North.

The fuel tank looks like it sticks out farther than normal on the one side.

Seems to me that the tank sticks out the same amount on both sides; it's just that there are no air reservoirs between the tank and the running board on one side, and in this pic the sun is shining directtly on the tank, so it looks like the tank projects more.

Always wonderd why we dont have kick plates at the bottom of the handrails down the sides of the units here in the states.

Could it be to prevent frozen water or snow in the walkway?

The SD70/45ACe have the same size of an SD80ACe, with a three radiator fans and a bigger fuel tank.

The units been moved by truck inside the Santos port to the cargo ship that will take them to FNS railroad in the north.

That might be, But some of the Canadian units have grateing for the walkways instead of diamond plate normally used

Progress Rail SD70ACe units started operation as yard switchers at PPT yard on VLI FNS railorad.
