An old PA2 cab ( Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Hi, today I found this cab from an old Cia Paulista PA2 in a bankrupted gas station in Extrema, MG across BR381 road.
It is a pity to see it there.

Agreed.  Kind of humiliating.  Oh well, maybe it was constructed "on the cheap," or perhaps someone thought it might attract more business.

Did not know the PA was an export model. Or were they sold from a US RR after their retirement from US service?

When GE offered the old Little Joe 2-D-D-2 eletrics to Brazil after US government prohibition to sell them to URSS, Alco also offered the lot of three PA's they had prepared to soviet countries, so Cia Paulista bought all them together.

I bet the guys in Frisco, TX would love to have this for their restoration of Santa Fe PA #59.
