On the hunt for Alco pulled log trains, we headed south through Concepcion, San Pedro and Coronel along the Fesur #2 line. This a commuter MU line that used forty-year old Spanish MUs and still has some manually operated crossing gates. The line has been upgraded as far south as Coronel, just north of the Port there. We only saw one old train station still standing, Squadron Station on the north end of Coronel. Only complaint, like much of the rebuilt lines in Chile, this one is mostly fenced in.

Image one - didn't quite good into a good position, but this one will do as Fesure 20135 heads south through San Pedro.

Image two is a bit farther south at the manual crossing at El Parque. The guard is pulling the gate down for an oncoming northbound MU.

Image three, he has crossed to pull down the gate on the other side.

Pic #4 reminds me of the long ago "Pacific Electric 4 track" along Huntington Drive here in Los Angeles, Calif.
